THE FLANDERS OPEN 10s RUGBY TOURNAMENT
The Flanders Open is an established 10s tournament that attracts teams from all over the world. It is a true Rugby Festival for mens, womens and veterans teams. The three tournaments take place over the same weekend in June, culminating in a superb themed party on the Saturday night. Big cash prizes, great rugby, fantastic hosts, unbeatable value ... and £100.00 beer vouchers to get the party started.
The Rugby Tournament:
Please click on the following link for details of the Flanders Open, including Youtube video, pictures from last years event. http://www.flandersopenrugby.be/ Although the main theme is fun, relaxation and beer, there are prizes for the winning teams including; 1500 euros for winning mens, 1000 euros for ladies and 500 euros for veterans.
The Party:
The organisers provide a welcome party (warm up) on Friday evening - then the main event a themed party on Saturday Night. The teams come from all over the world including; USA, Canada, Russia, Israel, South Africa, Serbia, Romania, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Holland and Belgium. The end of tournament party wraps things on up the Sunday.
Accommodation and Catering:
The organisers provide large tents for hire during the weekend (from Friday afternoon). The tents sleep from 20 to 40. Breakfast is included in the tour charge, with other meals available from the tournament catering facilities. There is a great selection of Belgian beers to help wash it all down. Bring your own sleeping bag and the rest is laid on.
The Area:
Dendermonde is in a beautiful region of Belgium between Gent and Antwerp. In view of good road communications and ferry crossings, it makes great sense to travel by coach, and to have the coach at your disposal during the stay. We normally include a night out in Antwerp / Gent on the Sunday evening after the tournament.
The Tour:
A four day (3 night) tour into the heart of Belgium. This very popular tour will get booked up - so please move quickly. Team Tours will look after all the arrangements and provide a tour to remember.
