More information about Munich:
Munich is probably best known for its highly successful football team Bayern Munich and possibly the biggest party on the planet, the Oktoberfest. Although football and beer sound like a perfect match there are a lot more things to do in this lively city. The club museum at The Allianz Arena is a recommended trip along with a stadium tour. One of the best ways of taking in some of the beautiful architecture and historical sights is by booking a ticket on the hop-on hop-off bus tour. An alternative way to getFor a cultural experience a visit to the Hofkapelle should be on your itinerary - here you can enjoy a classical concert in surroundings once home to the Kings of Bavaria.
The Marienplatz is a large, historic square in the centre of Munich flanked on either side by the Old City Hall and the New City Hall - the square has various restaurants with outdoor seating, making it a great location for people watching. The English Garden is a beautiful park in the centre of Munich offering an escape from city life and giving outdoor lovers a place to relax with over 45 miles of paths and running trails, and beer gardens with 7000+ seats. For slightly more somber but historic experience, a visit to the Dachau Memorial Site will allow you to take a guided tour around a former concentration camp and learn about the human suffering that took place there.
There are lots of other tours available including walking tours, bicycle tours and for something quirky a spooky tour!
