More information about Liege and the surrounding area
The city of Liege is in the French speaking region of Belgium known as Wallonia. It is the third largest city in Belgium. The city offers a wealth of stunning architecture, museums and galleries and generally has a friendly, laid-back lifestyle – due to this relaxed nature the nightlife and bar scene is lively, easily competing with some of the larger cities in the country.
If you are feeling energetic and want to admire a superb view of the city then you must visit and climb the Montagne de Bueren – this is a 374-step climb to the top (thigh-burner!). Liege is a city so it has everything you would expect from a casino to indoor Paintball and Lasertag to various Escape Rooms and Virtual Reality experiences. For a more sobering and thought-provoking trip, visit the Bastogne War Museum which is a short drive away but offers a unique insight into World War 2, and the Battle of the Bulge in particular.
Liege is home to Standard De Liege one of the biggest and most famous football teams in Belgium. Stadium tours last around 90 minutes and can be arranged from Monday to Friday.
